Three Things, In This Order

When a restaurant owner asks us to look at their marketing, it is easy to make it complicated. It is not. There are three things worth looking at, and we go through all three before suggesting anything.

The website. The Google Business Profile. And the marketing performance — what is actually bringing people in. Everything else sits underneath those three.

Your Website: What A Diner Lands On

Your website is where somebody ends up after they have heard about you, and it is where they decide. Most people are reading it on a phone, usually while working out where to eat in the next half hour.

So the questions are simple. Does it load quickly on a phone? Can somebody see what you serve and when you are open without hunting for it? Is your phone number and your location easy to find? A diner who cannot answer those in a few seconds does not call to ask — they look at the next restaurant.

That is what we look at: what your website says to somebody who has never been in, on the device they are actually holding.

Your Google Business Profile: What They See When They Search

When somebody searches for your restaurant by name, or searches for somewhere to eat in your town, the first thing they usually see is your Google Business Profile rather than your website. Hours, phone number, location, photos, and what other people have said about you.

It is the most-seen page a restaurant has, and it is the one most often left half-finished. If the hours are wrong, if there are no photos, or if nobody has left a review in a long time, that is what a customer reads before they decide.

So we go through it properly: whether the details are right, whether the listing is complete, and whether it gives somebody a reason to pick you over the restaurant next door.

Marketing Performance: What Is Actually Bringing People In

The third piece is what your marketing is actually doing. Not what was promised when it was sold to you — what has come in.

That means looking at where your customers are coming from and what has changed since you started running something. If a channel is bringing people through the door, it stays. If it is costing you money and producing nothing, the useful thing is to know that rather than to keep paying for it.

We look at it honestly, and we tell you what we find.

The Analysis Comes First

None of this is a sales pitch, and nothing changes while we do it. It is the same starting point as everything else we do: before anything changes, we look properly at what you already have.

You end up with a clear picture of where you stand and what is worth fixing, and only then is there anything to decide. If the honest answer is that something is already working, we will say so.

The takeaway

A restaurant marketing review is three things: the website a diner lands on, the Google Business Profile they check before they decide, and what the marketing is actually bringing in. It happens before any change, and it tells you what is worth fixing. Send us your details and we will go through all three with you.
