Online Ordering
Online ordering means a customer can order from your restaurant without going through the delivery apps — straight from your own website, on their phone. It is the simplest way to take orders directly, and it is the thing most restaurants ask us about first.

01
Why Order Directly
When a customer orders through a delivery app, the app is the one holding the relationship. It has the customer’s name, their address and their order history, and it decides when to show them your restaurant. When the same order comes to your own site, the customer is yours — you know who they are, and you can reach them again.
There is nothing for them to download either. Your site opens on their phone and works like an app, so a regular who has ordered once can order again by opening the same page. No store to search, no account to create with somebody else, and nobody’s update to install before they can eat.
And it is the one channel nobody else can switch off. A restaurant that exists only on a third-party listing depends on that listing staying visible — on its terms, its ranking, and a commission it sets. An ordering page on your own address is the channel you control, and it keeps working whatever the apps do next.
- The order and the customer come to your restaurant, not to the app
- You keep the relationship, so you can reach that customer again
- No app for the customer to download — your site opens on their phone and works like an app
- You are not dependent on a third party’s listing to be found

Save The 25% DoorDash Charges For Online Orders

The one figure worth knowing here is the one you already have. DoorDash charges 25% for online orders. When that same customer orders from your own website instead, the order does not carry that charge — it stays on the order rather than coming off it.
That is the whole argument for building the ordering page, and it is the reason we build it. Nothing else on this page changes it, and there is no other delivery service’s rate quoted here — this is the one number that matters to a restaurant deciding where its online orders should live.
- 25% is what DoorDash charges for online orders
- An order placed on your own website does not carry that charge
03
How It Works For Your Customer
There is nothing for a diner to learn, which is exactly why it works. From their side, ordering from you is five short steps — and every one of them happens on your website, not in somebody else’s app.
- They open your restaurant’s website on their phone.
- They look through the menu.
- They choose what they want.
- They add their details.
- They send the order through to your restaurant.
The order arrives with their name and how to reach them on it, so the kitchen has what it needs and you have a customer you can look after next time. If they come back, the site is where they left it: the same address, the same menu, no app to open first.
04
What We Set Up
Here is what is actually built and handed over, so there is no mystery about what you are getting.
- Your restaurant’s own ordering page, on your own web address
- Your menu and your items laid out so they are easy to read on a phone
- The order coming to your restaurant with the customer’s details
- Alerts by text and email the moment an order lands
- Every order saved in your dashboard, so nothing is lost
The order is saved whether or not anybody happens to be looking at their phone when it comes in, so a busy service never means a lost order.

Works With Your Systems
Minerva installs and supports the systems a restaurant already runs, or the ones it wants to run: Clover, Square, SpotOn, NRS, SkyTab, Nuvei, Lumino, Valor and Toast.
Because we carry all of them rather than one line, a restaurant that already knows its system can usually keep it. Tell us what is on your counter today and we will tell you straight whether it stays or changes — and if what you have already does the job, we will say so rather than sell you a replacement.
These are systems we install and support, and that is all that is claimed here. Nothing more is implied about any of them.

Zero Cost Equipment, 0% Fees And 3 Months Free Marketing
Three things, exactly as we offer them. Zero cost equipment, so the hardware you need to take cards costs you nothing to get started with a business account. 0% fees with Cash Discount, so your card processing fees come to 0% instead of a percentage of every sale. And 3 months free marketing, so we help you get found while you are getting set up.
If you run a restaurant and getting orders coming straight to you is the thing you want sorted first, that is the conversation to start. Tell us how your online orders come in today — the apps you are on and roughly how much goes through them — and we will walk you through what taking them directly looks like for your place.
Next step
Talk it through with us.
Call, text or send the form. Tell us what your business uses today and what you would like to change, and we will tell you honestly what we can do. There is no obligation to go further, and no pressure either way.
